At 3B Ranch our focus is to provide a natural and healthy environment for our livestock and the lively hood of our consumers. Our beef and pork is both free range and grass fed along with being USDA certified. Our livestock is pasture raised in our grass fields and other local fields as well. In colder winter months our livestock feeds off of the hay that we have collected and bailed from the fields during the the past seasons. It is important to us that we raise our products to the highest level of excellence, and to take the steps towards a healthy future.
What does Natural mean?
The term “Natural” basically refers to a way of growing your product in an environmentally sensitive way (without antibiotics, or synthetic chemicals). Because the word “natural” is a loose term, it is important that when you are looking to buy natural food, you check for certification.
What does Free Range mean?
The term “Free Range” is used when the livestock is allowed to roam freely rather than being contained in any one area. Farmers practice Free Range to achieve a USDA certification, to reduce the costs of feed and most importantly to produce a higher quality and healthier product.
What is Grass Fed?
The term “Grass Fed” refers to livestock that has been raised on pasture(s) and not confined to a grain fed or feedlot system. Although Grass Fed animals take longer to mature because no steroids or antibiotics are used in the process, the meat is often much more flavorable. Cattle were not designed to eat grains. And because they are fed grains in large factory farms (which is where most of the meat in the world comes from), this greatly contributes to the negative aspects of eating beef. Recent research has shown that Grass Fed animals produce meat that contains 2-6 times more Omega-3′s than a non-grass fed animal, making it more healthy and beneficial for the consumer.
